I am thrilled to be returning to Cádiz to lead a sketch workshop during Holy Week..
As Holy Week (Semana Santa) unfolds before our eyes, we’ll have the rare opportunity to sketch the passionate processions that have been a tradition since the 16th century. Watch in awe as intricate "pasos" (floats) depicting scenes of The Passion are carried through the streets on the backs of men, and sometimes women, flanked by droves of penitents wearing colored robes and tall, pointed hoods. The intoxicating scents of incense and orange blossoms, the soulful music of marching bands, and the glow of candlelight will fuel our creativity, inspiring sketches filled with history, emotion, and atmosphere.
